W126 Kickdown switch question

I found out (on this A+ forum) that my lack of upshift was caused by a stuck kick-down switch (under the gas pedal). I removed it and hoped I could disassemble and clean/lube it, but it doesn't come apart. I sprayed it with electrnic contact cleaner, used lots of shop air, and after 10 minutes of spraying and working, it seems much better. However, I don't trust it and will order a replacement.

My question: Am I running a risk of ruining the transmission, by over-revving in 2nd(?) gear, if I kick-down on the highway, say passing at 80MPH, and it sticks?
