W124 crusing at high speed
Forgot to mention previously how delightful the 95 w124 drive at highway speeds. Did three 225-230 mile trips this wknd, and it cruised flawlessly without a hitch, avg speed about 80-90, did a little bit of a 100, and 110... was just as smooth.
Just a little wind noise from the back it seems ... although the doors and weahter strips seem to be in very good shape and close tight. Other than that nice high speed ride. No road noise from the tires neither, riding on Continentals installed last year at the dealer.

Yes, these are FABULOUS road cars. I have driven mine extensively on the interstate and it has indeed seen 130 with me at the wheel.
In the last few years I've done a good bit of driving on German Autobahns. I have wished many times that I could drive my 300E over there. That's exactly what it was designed for and they did their job well. Have a great day, |
