Steering Damper
Hi Guys,
The steering damper in my '90 300E w/172K mi. was last replaced at 111K mi. I am getting feedback fm wheels when crossing speed bumps, and light rattle on occasion fm front end. Is it time to replace steering damper? |

Easiest way to determine this is to get under the car, unbolt one end, and push it in and out and see how much resistance you get. New, it's pretty firm. Worn out, it's not. It's the shock absorber-looking thing attached to the bottom of the center link, by the front crossmember.

They don't cost much
It would almost be easer to replace it than check it.

Steering damper
Once I priced this, I did decide to buy new one (@ $27) and install. Thanks for advice.
