1989 300 te questions.

1989300te
I have owne this car for several months...rebuilt head, MB rebuilt tranny put in by previous owner...swap program through MB. Recently I noticed that my tranny shifts late...revs to 3500 rpm before shifting to all gears...sometimes 4000. Really annoying. You have to let up off the gas to get it to shift sooner. Is this "fixable"? I am not aware of what it used to shift at, but now I see its too high...with no gain, not like there is extra torque at that rpm.
My fuel milage has gone to 125 miles on a tank...The car is going in the shop this week...but I would like to be an "educated consumer" and know the right questions to ask.
