CLK500 convertible seatbelt flutter
OK, you can say that it is a luxury to have this problem...
I have just swapped my 1990 SL500 for a new CLK500 convertible. (I need the rear seats.) Only one minor irritation. At about 45 MPH/70 kph, the seatbelt starts to flutter between my shoulder and its mounting. I suppose this is the "Tacoma Narrows bridge" phenomenon. By this I mean that the wind makes the seatbelt vibrate at its fundamental frequency. The distance from my shoulder to the mounting is quite long, even though I am 1m84/6 ft. tall. The effect is between irritating and painful, depending on the speed. Small seat adjustments to the front/rear make no difference. Any ideas on how to eliminate this? (Yes, it goes away if I put the windows and wind screen up, but that is not what I want.) Momo

Try putting a half twist in the belt by placing the nose of the buckle on the other side of the belt. This is done by feeding a belt fold through the nose piece slit.
