Sampler blower motor? Help!!
Hi, I have a 96 w210.
There is a buzzing sound on the front interior light. It is very annoying so I removed the connection of a small motor inside the light assembly. I got the serial number and found out on a parts list that this is called a "sampler Blower motor" What is this? I assume it is related to the Aircon but my aircon works fine. Can I use the car without it? Thanks |

It sucks air into it and flows it to the interior temp sensor for the auto climate.

I believe it's an integral cabin temp sensor and suction fan. The ACC should work predictably in steady state with a bad suction fan. It might take longer for the ACC to learn that cabin has cooled on a hot day or warmed on a cold day.

Thanks
Thanks for the replies!!
I was thinking of replacing the part but it is quite expensive for such a tiny motor. I'll try to put some WD40 in it to remove that buzzing sound. If it does not work, I'll just disconnect it completely. Thanks again. |

You might trip some error code in the ACC if you remove the cabin temp sensor, or it might default to some reading that doesn't let the ACC work as you need it to. If it's the buzzing that bothers you, disable the motor or pull off the blades. The ACC will be slower to react but should generally work if you leave the cabin temp sensor in place. Of course in the Philippines you probably leave the ACC on MIN anyway.
