sl servo

i have a 1981 380sl. the heat or ac hasnt worked since before i bought the car. Knowing I was in for some money to get this fixed I figured I would fix this last(its never really bothered me), and first worry about the things that would hamper my coming and going. The other day I am bored and looking to learn a little, I find what I have now learned is the servo. I notice a bulge in one of the hoses leading into it. When I grab the hose, I find its not even attached to the servo. Its cramed full of poop and the port that the hose was to be hooked up to is broken off with crap all in the servo. It was pretty ugly. I havent driven the car since I saw that and until I can budget it I havent seen a mechanic. I guess my main question is what kind of damage have I done driving this car in this state? I can only assume that my entire climate control system is toast, (actually i assumed that before i saw this mess) and that anything that still works is a blessing. Have I screwed up anything else non climate control related? The car has always run good and I ve never had any overheating problems. thanks
