240D low oil pressure?
I have found a possible donor car, but the guy says it's had low oil pressure for ever. At idle it goes to 0 and a little throttle it comes right up. Does this mean the lower end is near the END?

As funny as this sounds, it could be the sensor. On our 190E 2.6, the pressure gauge would seem to be working fine, with the pressure pegging as sson as you were underway, but the needle falling right to zero at idle.
However, it turns out that particular behaviour is one symptom of a failing sensor. Now, the W123 might not have the same style electrical gauge that the later cars have, so this might not be accurate. In any case, having the pressure double checked with an "outside" gauge is a good idea.
