This might be elementary, but need some help. I was trying to drain oil from my 89 300 SE. I tried in vain to open the drain plug for 2 hours. I am well aware of the righty-tighty/lefty-loosey and still did not work. I talked to a MB dealership tech and he said if it's stuck, have at it with a vice grip and change the drain plug. I have screwed the head of the old drain plug and no oil draining yet. Any advice from you senior techs??? Please help!

Same thing almost happened to me.
My 300SE drain plug would not
budge even after the liquid wrench.
I decided not to tempt fate and just
took it in for an oil change. No problem.
More arm pull space at a shop.
Any way I had thought ahead
of the option of using a pump device down the
dipstick tube to get the oil out.
Search the archives for the name of this
device.
Good luck

When change my oil, I make sure I use the copper gasket that costs extra when you buy filters. It seems to make removing oil drain plug easier and seal better, but I still have to use breaker bar with socket to get it lose.

You can buy a wrench MB and Impco , the wrench is used to remove drain plug and rear differential, or just use a 13mm box wrench. Most of the 10 minute oil change outfit do not change out the copper washer, and over tight the plug.
