Startek Info help...

I am thinking of getting a short term subscription to StarTek Info. I am wondering if I am going to be able to download (and then, of course, keep) the info I wish to obtain, or do I have to subscribe each time I want to use the information?

I was looking at the prices, and if you can download (in pdf's?) the info, then they are pretty realistic. A week's access is $95USD, easily what I would be willing to pay for a complete service manual for my car (and much less than what older paper versions, real ones, cost). At $18 for 24 hours, I bet I could get all the info I wanted on my car in that time period.

Anyone use it? Heck, for $18 I'll probably just go ahead anyway, that's not much cash to be risking, but I am curious about others using the site...

thanks!

I was wondering the same thing.
I doubt you'd be able to d/l and save the info. If it were possible I'm pretty sure all this info would have been shared and made available by people over the web by now.
Just a guess...

Assuming they don't have a button that says "save this entire Website to pdf," you've got two fundamental choices to "archive" the site.

1. Print every page you want. Safe way to go but kind of a pain and not too easy to organize the printed pages into the "drill down" architecture of the Website.

2. Save part or all of the Website to disk. Go to the site, File... Save As... make the type of file ".mht" or "Web Archive, single file." No guarantees, but this should work... you may have to do it one query results set at a time. Understand that by doing this you most likely violate the terms and conditions of your license agreement.

You may find that some of the PDF files are designed with embedded restrictions. Unless you have the password to that file you will not be able to do much besides View it.
