and restoring the valet lock.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

What model/yr car and what are you talking about?

MY05 E320 CDI. Apparently the problem affects ALL MY05s and most MY04s of all models.

They removed the deadbolt from the trunk lock...so no valet lock! As for me, if I am carrying dead bodies in the trunk I don't care if they can get out! And with a fold down rear seat, they could get out anyway.

I would like to get and reinstall a deadbolt. I have heard that MB is no longer even carrying a trunk lock with a deadbolt in the US.
