Service Manuals Available For Download

Can somebody please tell me if they are successfully able to download and use either one of these:

http://mb.braingears.com/

http://drmemory.org/~dakota/MB/maintenance/index.html

I have the file on my desktop but can't get it to work.

I guess you need the CDs for the 2nd link.

Has anyone been able to download from the 1st site?

The Indexes were made by me with some help from some friends. This project is not affiliated with MBCA (or DB for that matter), other than I'm an MBCA member. Each Index is free. It's my contribution to the Mercedes community.

You need to buy the CDs to make use of the Index. What, you thought everything was free? :-)

Dakota,

On http://drmemory.org/~dakota/MB/resource/MBIDplate.htm, the "12" you mark as a mystery should be the 10/12/20/22 code for manual/automatic, left/right hand drive code.

Also, your options code list should state that there are some differences between the meanings of the codes in the 50s/60s and the present codes, lest somebody wonder why their 1962 car has a cell phone or satellite radio.

For paint codes, you have it marked "under construction", take a look at http://viewimages.mbz.org/colors/glasurit/
