1995 C280. Had my 30K service done by
ind. MBZ. shop month ago. Got it back with
background rumble in idle. Got it back again
today with new spark plug wires(no chg.) because an end cap was apparently broken
(mechanic probably broke it-they r having problemos at shop)
The issue is that the car has less violent
'rumble but after it is warmed up and in park or neutral, I can feel tremors to the seat of my pants in driver's seat. Like a heart arrythmia. Tach needle just moves up a hair.
It did not have this behavior before
the 30K service, so I wonder whether this
is normal idling or whether I should suspect the new plugs (gaps or failure) ?
I feel like taking it to the dealer and giving the bill to my mechanic.
Please help!
Thanks

Take it back and demand that they correct there mistake. If it was not like that when you dropped the car off, then it is there fault.

If they are having problems in the first place, than this will be nothing new to them. Also, I suggest you find another shop in your area for future repairs/services, run a search in the "Good MB Shops" section for a possible lead.

Good Luck.

Thanks ROAS, yes I took it back today.
It's an ODDYSEY and my name ain't
HOMER (not the car and not simpson!).
I left out all the betwixing
comings and goings of this drawn out event. No need to spread aargh.
Yeah I'll definitely drive to another city
to get good service.
Hope I get it back without any more domino effects.

hey unkl300d...i'm from the bay area also...i have a c280 with about the same mileage on it...i have no solution to your problem, but i can give you a suggestion of a great mechanic where i take my cars...this place is in burlingame....the name of the shop is ******** and the owners name is Richard....this guy used to work for mercedes in germany and now has his own shop...he's very knowledgeable when it comes to finding problems like that...i guess he got it from experience....if you want to talk to him, call him at 650-342-3888, he treats his customers very well...if you have any problems with his work, he'll take care of it...one of his mechanics that i trust is Paul, chinese guy...he's good...well, goodluck...=)

Thanks Carlson_190E,
I will call ********
because my car came back today
but it still has a rumble and now
a slight surge after the stronger
cylinder miss.
I'll tell him you referred his shop.
Thanks again.
