'98 E320 Power Steering and Trans. Leaks, M112 Engine
I had my 1998 E320 with 75K miles in for the usual oil change. My mechanic noticed the power steering pump was leaking very slightly. And, a transmission coolant line flex coupling was also leaking very slightly. The leaks are so small that the pan covering the area doesn't show any spots.
Just wondering if any other people are seeing these types of leaks in a similar mileage 1998-2000 E320, or for that matter, any model using the M112 engine with that kind of mileage. How long should I wait before having these items repaired? I won't see leaking oil on the ground very quickly because of the pan/cover. By the time oil does make it's way through the little hole in the cover, might it be too late and result in more damage? Thanks.

Not uncommon at all, I see it pretty often. I would probably keep an eye on it the next time you service your vehicle and make sure it is not getting worse. The cooler line is the cheaper of the two to fix. The dealer doesn't offer a seal kit for that power steering pump, so you have to replace the pump to correct that problem.
