2004 C230 fault code definition
Tech is using a Baum i-scan on engine and retrieving fault codes P201s and P201b. This is the 2004 model with 2.0 liter engine. Not the same as a code P0201. I have no definition on these codes, they are defined on the star diagnosis machine but this aftermarket scanner does not define it. Anybody know what these codes mean? TIA for your help.

Isn't there a warranty on the car? Why not let the dealer fix it?

Vehicle is in Grand Cayman, purchased in Ft. Lauderdale. Once exported from U.S.A., warranty is void. So sayeth the owner who has been refused warranty service.

The P201b is a misfire code, I'd need more info (subcode number) to determine which cylinder, but the tech I talked to said it is a common code. I didn't ask what "the common fix" is though.
Came up empty-handed on P201s, is it possibly P2015? (5 instead of S?). P2015 is a problem with the purge control valve (Y58/1), and again I'd need to know if there is a sub-code to more accurately define the fault. With both of these codes, each had about 4 different sub-codes to narrow down the fault, for example P201s-001, P201s-002. Is there a "real" driveability problem, or just a warning light (check engine light). Gilly
