I want to buy one of those aluminum floor jacks from Harbor Freight. the two i'm interested in (the price is right) are:

Item 91039 $89.99 3" to 15 1/8", 24lbs, Overall dimensions: 20-1/2" L x 9-3/8" W x 8" H

Item 3939 $139.99 3 1/2" to 17 1/2", 35lbs, Overall dimensions: 23.62'' L x 11.81''W x 6.1''H

They are both rated 3000lbs. Anyone seen/own the cheap one? It weighs 11lbs less than the other one. Is it chinsy?

I already have a heavy (too heavy!) 2 ton Harbor freight floor jack that is about 25 years old.

I have that jack! The only thing that I don't like is the wheels are a little small - and it seems like a small piece of sand will keep it from moving - but it functions good. I know there are critics of H.F tools - but fortunate to have one in town. The local store is good about replacing something that breaks without any hassle, and that may just be small town management

I have the "heavier" one and it works pretty well but you gotta bleed the air occassionally. Got it for Christmas last year.
