ASD Warning Lamp stays on - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

My father has a 190 2.6 and his ASD light is staying on can someone give me any information on how this system works and what I should check first.

The system has stored codes that should be read by a code reader & then decide what the problem really is.
