wiring harness

I just purchased a 95 E320 (my first benz), and was having the time of my life. Now, idel problems, no excelleration. I understand I am in need of engine wiring harness. Vin # WDBA32E4SC248152. An internet shearch has produced nothing. My only dealership inquiry (100 miles away) was right at $800.00 just for the harness. Research tells me this is some what high. Any help for the new guy?

search the archives

Please do a search of the archives. Personally, I bought mine from Phil at Fastlane and it cost me around $700. If you are willing to install it yourself, you can search the archives for how others have done it.

Go with the outfit affiliated with this forum.

Call 1-888-333-4642 (toll free in the US) and ask for Phil.
or e-mail philip@peachparts.com

I got mine through Phil - He's a good guy.

You should get the proper part number for the harness to avoid any confusion. Its is tagged on the harness where it runs between the battery and the control modules (you may need to remove the battery to get a good look). Also, you can confirm the manufacture date of the harness on the tag as well ( < = '95 : ya probably need one).

They go for between 7 & 8 hundred .

Good luck.

Eddy:
Look at the top of your screen and you'll see a DIY tab. Someone did a pretty nice writeup, with photos, of the wiring harness replacement for the E320. I did this to my car last year; the job was not difficult at all and all of the previous engine-related problems immediately went away with the new part installed. I hope your issues will be resolved as well! Do a search and grab some popcorn, cuz you'll be reading for a while.
