"Friction torque" collar nut on 87/190E differential
1. I’m R/R my F & R flex discs for the driveshaft, since I’m in this area going to R/R the radial sealing ring on the front part of the differential because it’s leaking oil a little.
2. In the manual it mention a “friction torque” tool, I have the old top of the line Stahlwille torque wrench (dial type with follower needle) that I think can do the same job, but I’m not 100% sure what and how to measure this “friction torque”: . a. Do you measure it turning clockwise looking at it from the front of the car? . b. Are the wheels suppose to be off the ground and you measure it when it starts moving? . c. What do you do with this measurement? 3. Now the 12pt star collar nut, after R/R the sealing ring what is the final torque on this baby? The manual say “should be at least 180 Nm” how does the “friction torque” come into play with this? Thanks in advance with any help Thai GI sends...
