That's going to be very tough to find. First you're going to have to find some who drives between 5,000 to 7500 per year when the national ave. is 12,000.

Second, price must not be a problem. You'll pay over $20K for a car like that, although you may get it at a Divorce real estate sale, he he.

Keep tryin, might get lucky at that site, never know. But you ain't just gonna find them laying around, your gonna have to get lucky, but then again what do I know, watch 20 people on this site knows someone who is selling one, he he

If I were you I would look for a higher milleage one that has been well cared for. I own a 420SEL with 170,000 miles on it. I have owned it for two and a half years and have had to do very little in the way of repairs. I have all of the service records and from what I see most of the work was done between 100,000- and 150,000 miles. I think if you buy one around 75,000 you'll be buying it just as some major things start to wear out. For example, timing chains on W126 usually need to be replaced around 100,000 same with water pumps, etc. I can guarantee you that extra milleage on a well maintained SEL will not have any negative effects. My car runs like new. Its an 86, most people think its a 93-95 (They are obviously not familiar with Benz models, but then again most people aren't. If you can find one with a good service history you'll do well with a higher milleage car. The exhaust, brakes, cam shafts, timing chain, water pump were all replaced on my car in the two years previous to my buying it. I got a car with almost all new parts on it. If I had bought a lower milleage one, I may have had to replace all that stuff myself within one or two years.

Just my opinion..

Dan,
I agree with the above comment on mileage. Low mileage in a 10 year old car is not as important as good maintenance. Mine has 127K miles, and runs and looks like new. I have seen cars with 75K that are much worse.
If you really need low miles, head to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale!! Try www.mercedesshowroom.com. They seem to have a lot of low mileage SEL's and even a bunch of SEC's. I have never personally visited them, but a good friend has, and reported the cars there are like new! But you will pay lots for them.
Also, try up and down Fairbanks,in Orlando (where you found the last coupe we talked about.)
Good luck!

Go to your local (larger) book/periodical store. Pick up a copy of Hemmings. Lots to choose from.

i further the motion! i think mercedes just starts to brake in around 100K. mine run fine. i've had a 300e with over 340K on it and with a little work in the past, ran like a charm! looked good too. if your that picky, buy one with a higher milage and have it overhauled. reman engine, reman tranny, ect. you will probobly be safer that way too since you would get the warranty on your drivetrain. you may save some money also. its very rare you find an older merc like that with that low of miles. im very satisfied with the merc's i have, i bought them dirt cheap at a dealers auction.
good luck on your quest!

I have looked at Mercedes showroom they want way to much they want 15k for a 86 420sel with 100k. I know the things that come with high mileage and want to stay way from doing all those repairs and rebuilds as long as I can. I am thinking of going away from the s-class till I can find a better deal. Right now I am looking at a 91 190e 2.3 with 40k and they are asking 8,900 usd. Thank you for your feed back.
P.S. i put 45-50k a year on
