Power Steerring Fluid or Dex 3 for 1987 300E

What do you use for power steering fluid in non-self-leveling 1987 300E? One dealer says dex 3 ATF and the other says MB power steering fluid.

What is actually supposed to be in there according to MB Fluid chart?

Use PS Fluid. Dexron has changed over the years since your owners manual was printed. It now has additives that are not healthy for your PS seals.

Good luck,

Larry,

Do you use and recommend the MB Power steering fluid, or something else?

Yes, I use PS Fluid from AutoZone, Wal Mart or wherever I happen to be shopping. I have gotten many hundreds of thousands of miles from this stuff with no ill effects.

Good luck,
