Power top & Roll Bar --> NO GO
I had my 91 300sl parked with the top down and got caught in the rain. It only rained for a few minutes but the buttons for my top and rool bar stopped working. I put up the top manually but the switches still do not work. The top switch still works to roll up and down the windows. I can hear a faint click when I try to lower the roll bar. If anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be I would really appreciate it. It worked perfectly before the rain. ???

I believe the soft top is doing nothing because the roll bar must be lowered for it to operate.
Maybe the roll bar crash deployment has activated? You might try this. Press the roll bar switch in the position to raise the roll bar and hold it there for 10 seconds, and then try to lower it manually. If that doesn't work, I suggest running diagnostics on the soft top controller as explained here. |
