Headlight Problem 1993 190 e 2.6

I have two problems that have developed with my headlights.
(1) First my headlights stay on with the car off and the headlights in any position including off. I have tried to use the flasher function to see if it was sticking and sometimes it would turn off and then pop back on again even after sitting for a few minutes. To try to save my battery I disconected so I could still be able to start it up until I could fix the problem. (2) Now the second problem/situation has developed. The headlights no flash intermittently and systemattically like a warning or hazzard light would. I cannot get them to come off. There is a clicking sound that seems to be controlling the current coming from under the glove box. Please help.

My first suspect would be the headlight switch, since the lights are constant power, regardless of key position, the only break in the circuit is at the headlight switch. The bad news is that replacing that wiring monster is a real pain. I'd have the switch checked to make sure it's breaking the circuit in the off position.

Correct me if I misread this, but do you mean "headlights DO flash" and " get them to GO off?'
If so, You may look to see if the car has an aftermarket alarm system tied into the light circuit somewhere..that might explain the flashing ..

I've heard of some vehicles having a circuit breaker installed in the lighting circuit and this type of performance can indicate a short or over current situation. You may want to check the draw on the lighting circuit when it does this.
