Putting in a diff with ASD+ASR in a car without this??
Hi
I have an E 280 T (in US: E320 2.8) with a worn out differential. The car is not equipped with ASR or ASD. I have found a diff from a E 320 CE from same year and it seems to have same ratio and would fit. The problem is that it has both ASR and ASD. Can I put this in my car in any way? Can I block the hydraulic connection and use it without ASR and ASD? |

Anything is possible if you have enough time and money!
That being said, I think you should be able to do it. I am interested to hear others (the more educated) responses, as this is something I have always considered on my 300E (I would love traction control!). Good Luck and keep us posted! -Matt-

Are you sure it has both traction features ?? Or did you mean ADS vs. ASD ?? |

I think you are right; looking at the MB CD again it seems that it only has ASD. There is a hydraulic connection over the top of the diff and one connection and bleeder on the side.
To clarify, I m not trying to add ASR/ASD to my car just to put a new diff in. The sound of the old one is terrible :-( I am only curious if I can plug the hydraulic connection and use it without the ASD/ASR function. |
