W220 S430/S500 Door Panel Removal

Hello,

I've searched all the boards for info on how to remove the door panels on 2000+ S-class cars and couldn't find anything. I guess no one has attempted to work on these cars themselves! I am working on the passenger side front door, and have gotten a screw from behind the SRS tag out, and the one near the door jam that holds a plastic thingy in. I popped all the clips around the sides and bottom, but the top doesn't want to pop off like on the E-Class cars. AM I missing something here? Just want to ask before I break the handle off by force. Anybody? Techs? Thanks.

Regards,
Chris

Anyone? I guess no one has tried working on these themselves yet. Mine is out of warranty and the door closer and electrical stuff (seats, windows, etc) are not working on that door. I was hoping to check it out myself before taking it in. So, any advice from the techs? Thanks.

Couple of things.

1. You need to remove the seat switch panel by prying off the wood trim and unscrewing the screws behind it.

2. There's a small cover behind the top of the door pull which hides another fastener

3. The door pull actually prys off and exposes another fastener at the bottom

4. The power window switch panel must be pried off and the connectors removed.

Thanks for the reply. I will try that before I take it in.

Just to clarify one other thing. What you see of the handle that you pull on (to close the door) is actually a cover.

I've got the seat trim panel off and unscrewed the 3 screws behind it. I also popped out the cover behind the top of the pull, but dont see any screw there. I also am having difficulty removing the door pull cover. Is the just the top half that comes off? How did you remove it? Thanks.
