Angry 85 300 CD rear window - clunk clunk

My otherwise cool and unique 1985 300 turbo CD has developed a stuck driver's side rear window. The windown made a "clunk" sound, stuck in about the 1/2 way position, then when I tried to pull it up into the closed position, it came lose and slid all the way down into the slot where it normally lives. I have removed the back seat, removed the inner back seat panel covering window area, and removed an oval access plate (about 8" X %" in size). Now I can see some great looking aluminum "parts"...must be the support frame that is supposed to move and cycle the window up and down. There's not a lot of room to do/see through that inspection hole...any suggestions as to where to go next? Is there a drawing/cutaway of the mechanism available on line anywhere? I'm fairly handy with the chain saw, jack hammer, bent coat hangers, and duct tape, so I'll try a moderate repair unless special Kraut tools are required. Your thoughts are appreciated!

I can't tell you how to get it out. Put I can tell you that likely your window regulator has stripped some teeth. The exact same thing happened to the passenger front windows of my '84 300CD.

My rear window surges and its on the list to look at. Perhaps I'll try and take it apart tonight and see if I can figure out how to get it out.

There should be a couple of bolts that you can see on the body of the car that you'll have to remove. As well as a few bolts that hold the regulator to the window glass.

For the front window I had to remove all these bolts then pull the window up and hold it out of the way while I wrestled the regulator out of the door.
