Still looking to rent spring compressor...urgent
Hello,
I have a broken front spring on my 01 C240. I have been looking to rent a compressor - the one with side claws - because the spring is inside McPherson strut. There is really nobody out here who has one to rent out??? |

46mm open end wrench and accompanying smaller wrench
Want to loosen the 46mm nut on the front driveshaft of a 80 W116. There is a smaller metric open end wrench required in addition to the 46mm but I was not able to measeure across the flats on the smaller nut. I assume you hold the driveshaft with the smaller wrench while loosening the 46mm nut? This is one large nut I am hoping it doesnt become a nightmare to loosen, There is a rubber boot directly adjacent. Its been soaking.
Anyone have the pair of open end wrenches? Bob |
2000 S500
I replaced the front Shocks on my S500 because it was riding low on the left side. After I installed the replacement shocks, the car was still low. Someone sugested that I need to re calibrate the airmatics. how can I do that? is there anybody in the NY metropolitan area that can help?
thank you in advance, |
I looked on the front page for a injector pop testing rig...any chance someone out there wants to rent theirs out?
I'm also looking to rent an A-B light. I PM the two users at the top of the list, hopefully they check their PM every once in while :D Thanks!~ Erik |
Need to rent tools-crank seal R/R- M104
Hello from Atlanta, Need to replace seal on 95 E320. Looks like I'd make this a lot easier with special tools. Looking to rent Flywheel Lock#601 589 02 40 00, Insertion Sleeve# 601 589 03 14 00, and Puller# 103 589 00 33 00. Any help would be appreciated.

The insertion sleeve looks like this, and may not really be needed, but it is nice. Cost is $40-$50 to buy new. I believe the part number you show above has rolled to the new 611- number. The puller is required to remove the hub. The free AutoZone rental puller works fine though, no need for the fancy MB puller. You'll need to remove the radiator to make room for the puller. Here is a photo of the MB puller in action. |
Thanks gsxr. Posting the offenders login name sounds like a good solution. That way, if he met with some unfortunate accident, he wouldn't have any posts since he borrowed (unless he changed his name). Sounds cold, doesn't it. Re the seal guide (insertion sleeve), my picture looks different than yours http://www.zdmak.com/wbstore/main.asp?action=PROD&PROD=M0011&CTMP=1
My parts guy convinced me to buy 2 seals, "just in case" I mess the 1st one up- so I'm already gun-shy. I've got an AutoZone close by, so hopefully their puller will work. Thanks again. |
My insertion sleeve tool is OE from the dealer. The ZDMak tool is an aftermarket copy. So they may look a little different. Here is a photo of the back side. Here is a photo of the tool in use, and the final result. Most importantly, DO NOT dislodge the Woodruff key in the crank, or drop it into the timing case... and be super careful that it stays in place when re-installing the hub.

Great pics! Appreciate the cautions on the key. I'm sure this will also help others looking at this job for the 1st time.
Thanks gsxr. |

I'm looking to rent a crimper and timing light early August. I already did a PM to a member but I figure I'd put it out there in case the member doesn't get the message. thanks

Glow plug reamer
Hello, I am looking for a pencil type glow plug reamer to use on my 83 300D, I think 83mercedes may have moved on since his last post was in 06. A factory type tool would be nice since after I use it I will most likely make one. Thanks Or a length and dimension of the ream would also work. I read some of the threads on making them but never got an exact number it ranged fron 1/4 which I think is too small to 3/8 which is most likely too big and I didnt get a length. If anyone has the numbers I would appreciate them. Thanks again

Anyone with a FER765 or other type timing pulse to ignition converter for rent? I need one that is the kind that will hook up to a timing light. Short story, bought parts car and won't start without wd40 and smokes like a tar kettle when it does run, must be way rich?
Feel free to email me at p h o r d g u y AT g m a i l DOT com or send a PM here. Thanks, Chris |
