Tool Rental Master Member Thread

Greetings to all:
Hi...
I've decided to edit the tool rental thread... most are not reading the info, and they are making replies to the original thread instead of starting new listings, or sending me a PM...
STOP IT!!!

send me a PM if you have a tool to rent.
if you have a need for a tool NOT IN THE LIST, make a NEW ENTRY and start your own thread looking for the tool!

As you all know, there are many tools for these vehicles that you only need one time. So, buying them is a costly proposition and doesn't make economic sense.

So, we have established a tool rental program whereby members can rent a tool from other members utilizing the board as the source for the desired. tool.

If you wish to place a tool on the list for rent, please send me a PM with the name of the tool and the cost of the rental. I will put it in this post.

If you would like to use a tool NOT on the list, make a new thread with WTR Tool Name as a title

Please do not post with additional tools. Send them to me via PM and I will add them to the list, so that we have one continuous list.
Thank you!

Home Made Special Tools, This is where members can share how they made special tools
Home Made Special Tools, This is where members can share how they made special tools

as some members can make their own tools.

John

Good job, Brian.

How about a wish list and perhaps a list of tools that folks are willing to lend in the confines of their driveway?

I'd love to find someone who will share an IP A-B timing light or a dynamic tester. Hopefully someone close to me has one I can come over and use.

The terms of the rental are between lessor and lessee. If someone has such a tool and will rent it in the confines of their driveway, that's fine.

I'll add it to the list and the members can work it out between themselves.

I'd sure like to rent the RIV tool to set timing on the 603. It would guarantee accuracy and save me immense grief with it. Maybe I'll try to buy one myself and rent it out, if nobody has one available.

Make that 3 for the timing light. How about someone with a compression guage?

Thanks
David

I stumbled on to one of these yesterday at a tool warehouse clearance.. I paid $30
64$ doesn't seem so bad...made in USA too

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/hm-performance/dicote.html

For most Diesel trucks & cars.
Supplied w/three popular adapter numbers. ( Mercedes adapter included.. I confirmed before I bought)
Has an easy to read 2-1/2" diameter gauge head.
Flex hose w/swivel head which eliminates the need to remove auxillary equipment such as power brakes, steering, air conditioning, & manifold.
Includes quick side release valve to reset gauge without removal of adapter.

Gauge Range: 0-1000 lbs psi (0-70 kg psi)

I'll delete this if needed..for the sticky program

That would be perfect for the rental program.

Care to put it in??

Most members need a compression test once in their lives.

Tool Request

Greetings!
I would like to rent the timing chain and oil pump drive chain master link crimper for double and single chain as well as the RIV timing device (injector pump timing device). I have a 1985 MB 190D 2.2 Auto. What originally started as a timing cover replacement has turned into a full cylinder head gasket job! "crying" I am located in South Glastonbury, CT (just south of Hartford). Please drop me an email at (james.f.mcguire@pw.utc.com). Need urgently as I only have a motorcycle to get me to work.
Thank you,
James

Please check the listing and contact the member who currently rents the tool that you need.

The listing is in the first post of the first thread.

Hello- I was wondering if anyone would happen to have a tool for installation/extraction of lower control arm bushings for 1997 E320 MB, w210. I would rent it. I would also buy it, but I cannot find a place that sales for W210 chassis.

Also, to replace ball joints on the same, do you need a special tool?

Thanks all

Anyone have a Mercedes bearing puller?

I could use a bearing puller like the Mercedes tool used to pull out the trailing arm bushings. Anyone have one of those? Perhaps a torque wrench?

I can make you a $40 17mm injection tubing nut removal socket for $20 incl. postage. I just finished on for my 300d and it works great.
