Where can I find detailed info on the Mercedes 230S model (1968)?? When I do a web lookup, all the parts sites show up and I cannot find a good general info site for this model. I am considering buying one and would like all the info I can get. Anyone have an idea?? Thanks, Ben Carter

And you've tried the vintage links folder here? 1967-68 were very busy years for MB with new lines of vehicles overlapping earlier models. And if that 230S is last of the fintails then you can find plenty of info at www.heckflosse.nl including production numbers, serial number info, available colors and options, original sticker price, etc. And if that 230S is a 108 then its first run of whats arguably the last truly great, timeless luxury sedan that MB has ever built. Otherwise run the chassis number (111 or 108) through advanced search specific to this forum, archives here are amazing and cover everything from kingpin suspensions to zenith carbs. What kind of info are you looking for? Technical specs oughta be easy to find and anybody who's ever owned one can tell you about characteristics, handling in particular where kingpin cars seem to ride like they're on rails - the ultimate highway vehicle.

The 230S should be a W111 Fintail. If it was truly built in '68 (and not just titled that way) it's pretty rare as they only built the final 80 230S in January of that year. Otherwise most parts should be interchangeable with other late production S-class Fintails.
