Which Crane did you order?

The XR700 requires a ballast resistor and the XR3000 does not. The instructions will tell you what you need.

got it fixed

I installed the crane unit tonight and WOW!!! I am happy with the repair.

I am running the blue coil with the stock ballast and there is no problem at all. I know the new unit is the way to go because when I put my timing light to the timing scale there is a sharp clean image. I am not seeing the bouncing around that I had before. It is like a night and day improvement. I only wish that I had made the change a long time ago before the switchgear failed.

I am a little sad to not have the stock unit, but my old girl is not going to any beauty contests any time soon.
