6.9 tranny oil cooler hose routing

Can somebody help me with a 6.9 question, please?

I would like a written description, photo, diagram, or link to someplace that would show the exact routing of the hoses that rune between the trans cooler in the radiator to the auxiliary pump and then to the transmission.

I have heard of mecahinics not re-assembling correctly and since I have just gotten my car back from the shop and since it has suddenly developed an odd shifting behavior, I want to double-check this.

Thanks

kenny

All the cooler does is affect temperature and would not affect shifting. Euros did not have the cooler so not having it hooked up is no big deal. Make sure there is enough fluid and the shift rods are connected properly. I do not know if this tranny has a vacuum actuator....

Well, Fred, I have considered that, since Euros don't have them but an authority, no less than GVZ has had a failure of the trans as described for the fluid being pumped in the wrong direction or something. I can't remember the details, but he pointed it out more than once.

This car has a vac modulator and it checks out.

The trans is old and has never had any problems and it might be coincidence, but I remember Gerry said his car came back from the shop and the trans failed in record time and it was incorrect hookup of the lines.

Well, if you think about it, how many ways could it be hooked up wrong? I have not crawled under there lately but I seem to recall there is not a ton of slop in the lines so it is probably unlikely they hooked to the cooler backwards, which would not matter anyway since going through the cooler is not a directional issue.

If the suction and discharge hoses of the tranny pump pump were swapped (and i am not sure if they even have the same size connections) it should not matter because tranny pumps usually draw from and to the pan, so the fluid is being pumped even when the car is still and it does nothing more than cool the fluid.

I would crawl under mine but I loaned it out to a friend.

Can you describe the problems you are having?
