The EPC is now FREE!

http://mbca.cartama.net/showthread.php?t=23545

I posted this yesterday over on the diesel board but forgot to post it here for those who don't read that one.

EPC=Electronic Parts Catalog...basically it will identify the part number for every part on every car they ever made. Makes ordering parts very easy plus the diagrams are useful in case you are missing parts or forget how something went together.

* nhdoc, does your EPC include parts for models that weren't exported and sold by MB dealers in the USA (they used to be called "gray-market" cars)?
* There used to be a separate set of parts microfiche for the Euro cars but I can't find a set for sale, nor is it included on my version of EPC. The need doesn't come up often, but, like so many special tools, when you need it nothing else will do.

The online version does have some access to euro models but in order to gain access to all gray market cars you need to subscribe to the upgraded version which I think costs $15 per year now. My DVD set is has euro versions on it - is there a particular model you are interested in parts for?

* nhdoc, thanks for the information. I don't have a specific need now, but a few months back an '84 230TE rolled in. At the time I needed an auxiliary air valve for that M102. Very sensible car. Wonder what DB's reason was for not making it a standard US export model?
* I'm also looking for a source for current MB parts prices. It must be a complete list, not just MB prices for the parts stocked. Since I work on a lot of older cars (20-30yrs), putting together prices, without calling the dealer several times a day, is difficult. And it's next to impossible to put together an estimate after shop hours. Thanks.

Try this...simply enter the P/N and convert from Euros. Works for me. Maybe not what you're after though.

Did Duval shut down their website so we can't check pricing any longer

Yep, but this one is the same - http://www.mbeugene.com/ou/eugene-mercedesbenz/console.do?page=s_parts_order_parts

Their prices are a little higher than Duval's though.
