Double-acting solenoid on top of transmission

This is the one that sits on the automatic tranny and has a line that runs to the throttle and to the kickdown switch.

Mine is stuck or doesn't work for some reason. I tested the wires.

My question is how do I get to it to try and fix it? Can it be un-stuck?

Do I have to drop the tranny?

Thank you

Eddie

Thanks, That's good info.

How about getting to the solenoid? What is the preferred method?

Eddie
