Hi there I just inherited a 1963 190D and was wondering where I could find an online chassis and engine parts diagram?

Here's a link to the Russian site where you can get an idea about the parts used on the car. You will need the chassis number, stamped on the front passenger frame rail starting with '110'. These cars and their variants use many parts in common. They would be, the W110, W111, W112, W113, W108 and W109.
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb0.asp?TP=1 get the CD's for your car, they include the Pontons, or round body cars, as well as the fintails, yours. http://www.classictechlit.mbusa.com/MB/ Get the technical Data Manual and the Spare Parts Table as well. Fintails are tough cars but need regular maintenance, chassis greasing for instance.

Subscribe to the free Mercedes EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) at
http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/subscribe.jsp You can't get any better than a factory parts catalog. You will need a credit card so they know you are a US citizen for the free subscription. You will need the car VIN number, located on the top of the radiator support on a metal tag, and will be in the format 110.###-##-######. You will also need the engine serial number located on a metal tag on the upper left rear of the engine block. Mercedes uses these two numbers when there are any parts changes from year to year in parts. FYI, your car model is actually a 190Dc, and the earlier 190D and 190Db are different cars. As has been mentioned, get the repair manual from Mercedes Classic Center too. |
