New 250SE Coupe

Hello All,

I recently bought a 'new' 250SE Coupe. I had always wanted one of these models and one came up on craigslist for the right price.

The car is originally a southern car, owned by a col in the airforce until about 94, then 3 other owners, the last having owned it 8 years but not registering it, just driving it around near his house.

Its not in perfect condition, there is some rust around the place but it seems to be solid enough underneath. The front seats are also pretty bad.

It does have some interesting options including headrests, 15" wheels and its had a 280 engine put in there at some point.

my first job was to put on new tires, as the old ones were horribly dry rotted and i was a little concerned driving home the 160 miles, I was pretty impressed that the car drove home fairly easily, although it doesn't idle very well - I think thats because the brake booster is shot (I can hear it hissing every time i press the brake pedal). Next steps are chaning oil & filter, fuel filter, sparkplugs etc as i'm not sure how long ago that was done then to the booster. I do have a spare booster that the P.O. gave me but it looks very rusty and I'm not sure how good it is. He also gave me an aftermarket master cylender too. I'm currently thinking of getting a used or rebuilt unit.
