280se 4.5 - Two Way Valve (US)

Anyone know how much power this little guy requires to work? It powers the vacuum advance on the distributor. My timing is way off and want to get this valve right before I go and mess with the distributor.

There is a black/purple wire that supplies power, but it's not on the wiring diagram (no wiring even in the emission section). I'm pretty sure it goes to a fuse but I'm not sure which one. I can get it power other ways but don't want to give it too much. Thanks!!

Just takes 12v. Easiest way to activate that valve is to turn on the A/C or ground the wire connected to the 100 degree C temp sensor located on top of the water pump. Latter method will also turn on the electric fan so beware.

as ever

Good idea. Thought it was 12v. Tested it on the battery and I could hear it clicking. Thanks Paul.
