That's a Euro 250CE. Very few of these cars in the US. The engine is an M114 2.5 6 cylinder with EFI.

So, what's the difference between a w114 and a w115??? Any of you have a good link that shows all the models and classes?

There use to be a website that listed each w### and the models in that along with the HP and years produced. This was the link:
http://home.hiwaay.net/~gbf/mbmodels.html

broken now, of course. Who ever did that sure did a good job.

Did someone say Euro? Anyone want some bumpers?

Hello,

Yes it is a 250CE very rare in the US. This is a wonderful engine. Any 250C or 280C owner with the USA carbureted engine would love to have this engine! This 250CE had a very nice electronically fuel injected engine with little or no USA emmission equipment and high compression. Good power, fairly easy to work on, cold starts and idles well like all MB injected engines. It is a lighter and simpler engine than the mechanically fuel injected engine it replaced.

Would fit nicely in any W113 SL, most sedans of the era. Would be a project. You would need to take the wiring harness and the main "brain box" (ECU) mounted up under the dash.

At least pop the "brain box" out before it goes to the crusher. They are probably over $1K or NLA.

W114's are 6 cyl cars , the w115's are 4 cyl or diesels. The W115's had extra welds on the body in order to handle hard taxi usage.

I'd like that engine. It would fit perfectly in my 220S and make the conversion to EFI much heasier.

Those are handsome cars.

I recently saw a nice rustfree but rough one sitting on a little used car lot off to the side with a bunch of non runners (it appeared).

I was slightly tempted but resisted.

So, does anyone want anything off of this car? And if someone wants the engine, I'll be happy to pull it and arrange shipment or coordinate pick up or maybe even deliver it.

I have parts delivery trips planned to Columbus, OH, and also Atlanta, GA, soon --- these will be separate trips in a big pickup truck capable of pulling a trailer. You get the picture.

Hey, if you're in the market for engines, I have a euro-spec M110 with CIS fuel injection. Bought it for a future EFI project that will never happen. Shoot me a PM if you really are interested...I'm in NoVA too.

Hello,

Ideally you would want the entire car to make use of the engine for a transplant, since the unique wiring harness would also be needed.
