Any tips on replacing W108 seat pads & springs?
I would like to replace my 4.5's driver's seat's horsehair pads and springs. Any tips and/or suggestions will be appreciated. The seating covers are leather. Thanks!

Here's a page from the sl113.org site, same routine. You're probably replacing seat pads, the springs will be retained.

Thanks JMele for the helpful link! Yes, I'll probably just replace the pads as the springs are VERY expensive.

Let us know how it turns out - I'm about to do the same project on my car.

I had my pads replaced by an upholstery shop that does custom work. They used layers of foam in different thickness and an electric carving knife (turkey knife) to shape it. The springs were not replaced. I got the new leather from GACC. The shop ordered the leather and got a better price discount. See my gallery photos for before/after shots.

Here is a picture of the backrest pad being custom made and the final product.
