transmission compatability for 77 280SE
this is a strange one but...
I have a 77 280SE (116) with a motor from a 81 280SE (126). when I put the motor in I saw that it had holes to mount another transmission than the one already in the car. Now my transmission is failing and I was wondering if the transmission from my 1981 380SEL (126) is compatible. I know it will fit but I am wondering if it will mate up to the motor. Thanks for any help that can be provided
