w108 sunroof repair

Ever since I first got my 250s 5 years ago, The sunroof was always sluggish. I had made it habit of forcing the sunroof closed by pushing on it with my hand. So the other day I decide to take on the task disassembling the sunroof to investigate the problem. After being able to remove the sunroof I could see my glides were dirty but the problem was that the push/pull rod was bent and would bind as it retracted back into the tube causing it to be sluggish at a certain point in opening the sunroof. I bent back the rod as much as i could do and greased everything back up. It works pretty good. Just thought I would share my adventure with you. And I'm going to start photo documenting my work so here are some pictures I took yesterday.
