Hello DPL,
Where are you located? Is your car a W108 chassis? Which engine does your car have? Have you checked with our host for the oil pump?

Rust Coated is an interesting desire. I'm assuming you mean rust-proof coating, the only one I know of is ceramic coating one can have done to exhaust parts. Stainless Steel is a common material to use for it's less corrosion prone nature, I think a company called Time Valve will relieve you of a large sum of money for one for most of these old cars.
I'd be content myself if I could find anyone that could do mandrel (non-kinked) bends. I'm suck with ordering 90's and 45's and putting stuff together myself.

I can't speak for the oil pump, but I was able to have an exhaust system fabricated inexpensively for my '68 W114. It's hardly a complex system and a shop with a competent fabricator should be able to make you one without too much trouble.

jeffery i am located in santa maria ca the other problem is the system was so rusty most if it was gone so I throw the rest in the trash. once I can buy the tail end section and other parts than I can take it to school and weld it in our auto body welding dept.

markovar6 has been through this same process and there is a thread from about 2007 on the forums about what he found. Type in 280s exhaust in the search box and see if it comes up.
One thing that I can throw out is that if you find a good used exhaust system somewhere it is going to cost a great deal to ship since the pipes are so long. And if you have a shop build you a system don't forget to have them put in a crossover pipel You may also be able to get by with a muffler from another type of Mercedes. Hit the wrecking yards and see what is out there. Perhaps one from a 116 or a 115? Make sure you measure the space on your car where the muffler mounts as the rear 116 muffler is somewhat long. |

A company in Arizona has an entire system for about $550. They are called German Star if you care to Google them.
On this site AllParts has everything but the front pipes for about $360. The brand is ANSA which I do not think is as good as the OEM you would get from Mercedes, but is still a good brand. Last edited by Pooka; 04-13-2010 at 05:38 PM. |

What is the engine number? If you have it, what is the part number? I will help you find an oil pump. I am pretty good at finding parts when I need one...
