Removing air intake to clean wiper nozzle, am I missing something?
I have been trying to get my wiper sprayer working (I do know about adding an electric pump and switch and will do that soon, but need this for driving in the interim). I am in the process of trying to clean the hose or nozzle it connects to as I cannot get air to flow through this area which makes me think that's the problem. Long story short, I have removed the screws on the side of the intake cover, one each on the painted side section and also removed the three screws that hold the chrome in place. I then took my wipers off and undid the round chrome nut that you need to use needle nose pliers to get to, then the washers beneath there. It still doesn't want to come off so I wanted to see if it's just stuck in and needs some more pulling, lifting or is there another attachment point I'm missing? The whole painted panel comes off to reveal the filter correct, not just the chrome grille?
Does the windshield chrome need to come off before the cover can be removed?

I actually just noticed you said two screws on each side, I only see one on each side. Did you mean two total on the sides or two on each side? Are the others hidden under the windshield chrome?

I didn't end up taking off the cowl thankfully, but I did manage to get my windshield wiper fluid system working and wrote up a tutorial for it. Here it is for anyone interested: Tutorials
