Gentlemen, this W108?

I know, I know....eBay.

But I do like the way she looks in the pictures.

Thoughts?

Nice but pricey, in 2 door territory.

There are some things off about it (like the glovebox door) that make me think it's not as nice as the pictures may indicate. It's also 4.5/3.5 coin (nowhere near 2 door territory though, at least not where the 2 doors in that condition would be today - maybe 15-20 yrs ago).

I noticed that the front section of the dash by the defroster vents looks faded, too.

There's also something barely noticeable in the pax side rear wheel well.

Still, I've spent that amount of money and then some trying to restore my W115 since I bought it last summer. It won't be this nice when it's all said and done.

Once that's settled, I think a already restored (lesson learned) W108 will be the next addition....wife willing.

Would you consider a w116? This is the second time I posted this link, and I have no affiliation but this one sure looks nice:

The door rubber and some other seals look cracked, they can be pricey, serious money in some cases so check first. Front windshield is or has leaked since the wood trim is worse there and the headliner has signs of water intrusion. Rear headliner has same but if this is built like the coupes there is a vent hidden under the chrome trim at the top of the rear glass for air equalization, and if power washed or hosed other than downwards, you will usually get some water in there.

Dash clearcoat is micro-cracked but intact, I'd leave it, at least until pieces start to fall off. I don't see overspray on things like the front bullets, and those seals look new to me as do some other seals that could have been replaced when it was painted. I missed if this was a repaint or original? Dash may have a dash liner, the kind that are form fit to be glued or taped over cracked dashes, but I'm not certain. Chrome looks great. Rubber bumper trim is split all the way through on driver's side.

I don't know what a good one sells for but I'd think this is top of the market. Where are you located? Can you see it first?

I'm in WV. Not too many MBs of any chasis in this part of the world.

I was listing on this W108 to get a gauge what x amount of money gets in terms of y quality.

I'm in no hurry to buy. Although I'm getting the bug, I still have a few more thousand to throw at my moneypit of a W115.
