intake removal 1979 6.9

does anybody have any pictures and or directions on how to remove an intake manifold on a 1979 450sel 6.9? thanks in advance. Bert

You need to make a drawing of the intake manifold and all the bolts that hold it on. This includes the CIS injector lines, injectors, pipes, hoses, wires etc. Take a lot of detail pictures.

Take the cis system off as a unit and set it aside.

Take off all the other piper etc, wires and where they go.

Take off each bolt, measure it and note the size on the drawing.

You will eventually get them all off and the intake manifold. There are eight rubber couplings, or donuts, between the manifold halves. Remove the bolts holding the halves together and measure them as well.

Clean everything. get new gaskets and hoses and other clips as needed, injector o-rings and such, get new gaskets.
