1970 250 brake bleeding

Hi,

Just put on a new master cylinder and all new calipers. We're still trying to get all the air out of the system, but the pedal is still really soft. Is there any other better way of bleeding them out?

Make sure you start with a full res and start with the farthest from the res with the closest being last.

Dont let the fluid run low or you get to start over.

We got to looking and three of the calipers that were sent to us had the bleed screws on the bottom while installing them. Should probably send those back and get the right calipers.

Those are perfectly usable if you can invert the car while bleeding.

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before installing? A necessary step.

Also, it's likely you have the calipers on the wrong wheels if the bleeders are in the wrong place, although I don't know how you would end up with three goofy ones if you ordered correctly.

At any rate, your questions are irrelevant if you don't have the correct calipers.

I flipped the calipers around on the back, but then the brake lines dont line up. Does anyone have some photos of what they look like on your car of that era. I would like to show the place I'm ordering the parts from what I'm talking about since they dont get it. THANKS

I ended up getting the correct calipers for the front with the bleeder on top then I flipped the rear calipers around so they had the bleeders on top. Then I picked up some new brakes lines for the back that were a little longer than the originals and bent them to fit. We bled the brakes in about 10 min, so we have a hard pedal now. Thanks everybody for the help.

Oh good, thank god you didn't have to invert the car to get the air out. That would have been a ridiculous operation...

What? The only problem with inverting the car is remembering that the turn signals reverse. up left, down right
