There is a series of books called Collectors Guides published by Motor Books Int, Osceola,Wisconsin 54020,USA. 3 volumes cover the periods from 1945 to the 70's. There is lots of helpfull info regarding vin # etc.If you need any further help get in touch.

Are you looking for books or web links? Once you know the chassis number, you can usually do a search on most search engines ie. W123 or just 123 and you'll get some hits. I have several links that lead to sites that have anything ranging from basic picturesand chassis numbers, to dedicated chassis sites with more info than you might care to know. Also one of the links from here (left side of screen) will take you to a site that has a whole boatfull of links. I thinks its the MB enthusiast page.
Hope this helps...-Larry

Try a book called "Mercedes-Benz Production Models Book 1946-1995" by W Robert Nitske. It has all specs for all cars produced including prices, production numbers, options
most every thing. You can even find this book
at a Borders book store or Barns & Nobel. Most of the info is accurate, and is a nice thing to have for the serious MB buff. $40.
