Quick alternator question (w114)

Just bought nice reman. Beck Arnley alternator.

Fits perfect but the wiring kind of stumps me (see attached). Outside of the 3 prong voltage regulator (which goes to my external voltage reg; pretty straight forward) how do I hook up the other two (b+) ones.

Oh, also here is the wire that it hooks up too (notice how it has 3 wires/3 female hook up). Two wires look pretty fat (gauge), and one blu one is thin.

Humm...could it be that I have actually stumped everyone (40 views no takers)?

I was fishing around and came across a similar question posted on a VW site:

TheSamba.com :: View topic - B+ B+ Alternator with pics

Bottom line: the two red (thick gauge) wires both go to the B+, and the thin blue line is the one that goes to my dash warning light (which I'll hook up to the spare B+ terminal). For whatever reason, my new Beck/Arnley alternator has two B+ terminals (one marked B+ and the other marked B+B+); they are exactly the same.

Aside: that little black doohickey attached to middle is to reduce radio interference (ever since my alternator was on the fritz my radio has been making humming noises); cool.

Just my two cents....but the reman alternator that you have there looks like a Bosch AL64X 35 Amp alternator and the alternator that you took off your car looks like a Bosch AL74X 55 Amp alternator.

I don't know the W114/W115's as well as w108/W109's , but the 1966 through about 1969 w108's had a 35 amp alternator. The later model years w108's had a 55 amp alternator

If I were you i would go back to the place you purchased the reman alternator and see if they have the 55 AMP alternator.

It looks to me like ALL the connections are different on the new alternator.
You'd have to cut off your old connector and install ring terminals to connect to the B+.
Take it back and ask for the right one, or take your old one to a local rebuilder.

Well, the good news is my radio sounds perfect (no interference).

Bad news is I have a 35 amp alternator when I should have a 55 amp (cripes!!!)

Well, re-ordered a Bosch 55 amp-er (overnight delivery). Hopefully be here for install by my day off Wednesday.

Update...nasty squeeling noise comming from engine early in the morning...sounded exactly like what has been described as a "loose alternator belt".

Sure enough, pulled off side of road, loosened alternator adjustor bolt, tightened belt: smooth sailing since then.
