Lubricating Seat Tracks
Hi everyone,
Any recommendations on what to use for lubricating my 108's seat tracks? I have the type with height adjustment. Thanks! Jose

What I have found is that you can add any lubricant for a short term fix but you will have the long term problem of 40 year old grease stuck inside the tracks. I solved my problem of very sticky tracks by soaking them in a solvent. Then I used an assortment of long handled brushes to clean out the tracks. I also sprayed a lot of brake cleaner to help remove the stubborn grease. I then used spray grease. The seats now move with ease.

My go to grease for things like this is "Lubriplate".

Thanks guys! The seat tracks in my car are bone dry; there is nothing in there. No grease, no nothing. So, I guess I'm in a good spot.

I'm not crazy about the spray can white lithium grease. It seems to dry out very quickly and become sticky, not what you want from grease..
I got a tub of synthetic wheel bearing stuff I use for everything, less convenient but I think better.

I was referring to this grease that comes in a can and it's solid:
LubriMatic White Lithium Grease - 16 oz. Can LubriMatic Tools L11350 I have the Mastercraft Canadian Tire brand but it's the same basic product. I've tried the wheel bearing grease in the past and it lubricated great but the friction surfaces scraped it off in weeks. What about the super-runny, super-sticky synthetic caliper slide lube? That might also work well.

Ah, I was thinking of the spray can stuff.
The dealership might have something, like the special sunroof lube.
