W115 AC retrofit help please!
Hello,
I'm writing to see if anyone here have a w115 with AC installed and could help me with some pictures please? I need to see the holes in the firewall of the AC pipes to the engine compartment, inside and out as also the connections of the pipes in the interior under the dash. Other thing is the AC box drain pipes, where they go? If anyone could help me with the pictures I will be very appreciated, since I couldn't find any detailed pictures on the web. Thanks |

If you end me an email I can pass along high-resolution photos of the evaporator assembly used in all 114/115 vehicles

I'll walk over there in a few. I have everything installed except a compressor.
You really want to talk leathermang. There's some stuff in his signature. He seems to know AC. He'll tell you to upgrade the system probably. I'm not ready for it yet. I look at my system and know I have some parts |

Right hose on firewall runs to compressor. Top hose on evaporator runs to compressor.
I hope the inside pics help. Let me know. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What year is your 115? Let's see that heater control valve... I'll look for the link to my thread. |

Hi Lucas, many thanks for your pictures.
My W115 is a 1975 model, and was re-imported to Europe in 1980, I don't know if from US or Canada, but is a US version. About the AC, do you have some pictures from the lower part of the AC box, near the gear lever, I need to see where the drain pipes go, maybe there is a hole in each side of the transmission tunnel? Thanks PS: I attach a picture with a AC box with some electric wires attached on the left that I also don't know what are they for. I don't see any wires coming from inside to the engine compartment near the gas pipes on your pictures... |

That's kinda funny. Everyone in the US talks about having a euro model here. You must be the only guy with a US model there. Is that a sought after car there?
We need to develop a swap system. I'll look tomorrow. Idk much about AC systems. But what are those two hoses for? Maybe you have it turned around backwards? Or a system from a right hand drive model? Not sure what swaps with those. Or does it actually drain water out? Either way. I'll look and post a pic. It's dark out currently. |

W115 with AC in Europe are rare, but I found a AC box + center console + dashboard from a German guy possible known here in the forum, his name is Ralf from "www.treffpunkt-strich-8.de one of the /8 specialist in Germany. The drain I'm mentioning is the one in the red circle on the attached picture, it have one in each side for the condensates from the AC inside. Any one knows for what is the hole on the green circle? |

Can anyone toss some pictures of the A/C compressor mounting for a 220? Our family barn find appears to have all the A/C bits except for the compressor and associated mounting brackets. Anyone have those parts collecting dust and in need of a new home?

W115 A/C compressor mounting
ocn,
Here are some pictures of my 1973 220D compressor mounting. It consists of a large, heavy duty, bracket just behind the belt-driven accessories and connection points to the exhaust manifold and motor mount. Note: my starter is removed for a transmission job and my A/C doesn't yet work. |

IIRC, on 4-cylinder models, the AC bracket also bolts to the front of the water-pump.

Hello:
I am restoring my 1972 Mercedes W115 and I am looking for the air conditioner / heater box. Any idea WHERE I can get it? Any lead would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance Irfan Quote:
