Adding fog lights to a 114 (1970 250c Coupe)
I've got a 1969 250c Coupe, European model. It was manufactured without front fog lights, but I believe fogs were an option for this model year. Does anyone have any info on what I would need to do to install fogs? Any sources for parts?
Thanks in advance. -Matt |

My information involves factory foglamps on USA 114 cars so I can't vouch for the Euro' version. My '72 250 sedan came pre-wired, from the headlight switch up to the headlight assemblies, for optional foglamps. I installed factory Hella 6" foglamps from a '70 250C parts car, along with all the factory connectors and hardware. The foglamps mount in the center of the fender panel, on each side of the grill, just above the bumper. For each foglamp, you need to drill a foglamp mounting hole on the panel, then a second hole for a rubber grommet to pass each foglamp wire through. There should be an unused connector on the back of each headlight assembly. The wire and plug goes through the rubber wiring harness tube from each inner fender to each headlight bucket. I used a bit of coathanger to fish the fogwire through each rubber tube.
If you have aftermarket foglamps or want to mount them below the bumper you will need to improvise. Good luck. Happy Motoring, Mark Happy Motoring, Mark
